I think I knew at an early age (even before I was born) that I was destined to be in the food service industry. While my mother was pregnant with me, she was a dishwasher.
As I was growing up, I enjoyed playing sports and had aspirations of pitching in the Major Leagues. At a very early age, I enjoyed cooking. When I was 10 (my mother says I was much younger but you know how moms are…), I used to cook the family meal – and that was Thanksgiving!
At 13, I began working in various restaurants washing dishes and busing tables. When I turned 16, I got my first big break and had an opportunity to cook – boy, I was like Rudy! I put my heart and soul into it.
That was where I tapped into the passion that fuels me today to create delicious meals that bring smiles and big sighs of contentment.
My 3 Rules that I live by:
1. It’s not about me.
2. I’m only as good as my last meal served.
3. I’m only as good as my worst cook.
When you come to Rene, please say hello… I would love to personally meet you!
